Recently, a friend said to me “Katie, that’s a feature of who you are, not a bug”.
That saying has stuck with me.
We often hear these narratives that changing your mind means you’re fickle, disloyal, wayward, duplicitous, or worse yet—traitorous.
So, when we begin to experience ourselves changing our minds about something important in our lives—how we feel about politics, professions, parenting, or even partnership—we begin to feel like something might be “wrong” with us.
The truth is that changing your mind—and even your core beliefs—is a normal part of healthy human development.
